A Penny Saved Round 2

Salutations ladies, gentlemen, children, and all residents of our virtual world!

This Sunday marks the second time in Antique Square's newest exciting activity - A Penny Saved.  A Penny Saved is a week-long sales promotional that happens every other week.  Shopkeepers electing to participate in the week will have a new item set up for you to check out and take home for a price between 50 and 75L.  These items are exclusively at their Antique Square location for this week and at this price!

Come on by and check them out!  Look for the items with the Penny Saved sign and Penny for savings!

This week, our theme was "Frontier Family". We hope you enjoy our selection of items for any western themed sim.  These items are also great for other themes, such as Victorian.

Here's what you can find at Antique Square!

Lovely Day for a Stroll...

Looking for a way to pass a fine spring afternoon, perhaps with friends or loved ones?

Come to Antique Square and enjoy one of our three new horse-drawn wagon rides!

The Red tour will take you up and down the Boardwalk, pausing at its north and south ends.

The Gold tour (my personal favorite) will take you into and around our beautiful Central Park.  This one's especially recommended for wooing your sweetheart.

Finally, the Blue tour will lead you around the main road and pause (and announce) each of our local shops and points of interest.  It's the longest of the three.

Each tour is drawn by a pair of horses, and seats up to seven avatars, and it doesn't cost one red linden.

To enjoy any or all of these tours, find the sign on the main pier with a picture of a pair of horses-- just like the picture you see here at this post.  Click it, select your tour, and when the wagon appears, sit at the driver's seat to be on your way!

This week, our theme was "Rain".  After all, April showers are supposed to bring May flowers...

Here's what you can find at Antique Square!

Clover's Kitchen brings you warm comfort food for a rainy day with this 6-prim Grilled Cheese Skillet.  The skillet features particle "grease splatter" effect, sizzling sounds, and steam; and offers a choice of melt-in-your-mouth grilled cheese sandwich (with or without bacon and/or tomato slices) with a click.

Also included with the Grilled Cheese Skillet is a prop cutting board, with knife and tomato slices, to enhance the decor in your kitchen.  The cutting board also has 6 prims.

Both pieces are No Mod|Copy|No Trans and can be had for a steal at Antique Square's "A Penny Saved" promotion!

Giddyup!

People seemed to enjoy the wagon ride at the Spring Flower Festival so much, I've decided to add a regular horse-drawn wagon tour to the Square.  It starts right near the central pier, where you first rez in (it looks like the picture at the left).  Click on the signpost and choose "Guided Shop Tour" and kapoof, your wagon appears.  Hop on!

The wagon makes its way around the Square, pausing at each shop and announcing which shop it is.  I'm hopeful that this will not only make it even more fun and interactive at Antique Square, but also increase the exposure to shops.

Anyway try it out, and let me know what you think!

Thank-yous

The grounds have all been picked up, and Antique Square is back to its "normal" routine until the next event comes along.  But it would not be complete if I didn't take a moment to offer my deepest heartfelt thanks to those who had a hand in making the Spring Flower Festival such a success.

First, of course, to Thaddeus for not only hosting the event on his land (and everything that goes along with land ownership, like stream management and organizing set-up), but for all the hard work he did promoting the event and getting all of us on the same page and working together.  It was no small task and the whole event went much more smoothly because of your efforts.

To Bounce, for making the festive pennants and banners that brought so much light and color to the grounds.  He was one of the first people to say "I'll help!  What can I do?" and to me that deserves special recognition.

To Tess, who came up with a fantastic alternative to the seeming "necessary evil" that hunts have become.  Rather than just say, "Nah, let's not do that," she offered, "Let's do this instead."  And so, she suggested a bargain cart sale, which excited merchants and gave us and shoppers both something to really enjoy.  She also spent the night before the festival's opening putting out flowers in planters and boxes.

To Colette, who transformed the central park into a veritable fairgrounds.  People just didn't stop raving about how wonderful the park looked!  She also made the (free to copy!) red and pink floral arches seen in all the shop doorways.  And, she made and offered several prizes in the Balloon Game.

To our DJs, who kept our guests' toes tapping: PJ Zessinthal and Hoppy Easterling were both a big hit.  Symmetry Munro regrets not being able to make her set, due to unforeseen RL circumstances, but promises to make it up to us on another occasion.  Meanwhile, I offer her my best wishes.  An extra shout-out goes to PJ for the last-second use of her stream for the fireworks show, when Mistletoe's own was malfunctioning.

To every one of the merchants who rented carts, and advertisers who rented ad space on the wagon, I sincerely thank you.

And to everybody else whom I was too foolish and absent-minded to remember, the fault is my own for not doing so.

Thank you all, and I look forward to the next event!

Spring Flower Festival Set-up Today!

Ladies and gentlemen, Friday is almost upon us, and with it the start of our three-day Spring Flower Festival! So many of our residents have had a hand in the creation of this event, and in making our Square look as lovely and festive as it does now.  We hope you will be as delighted with the result as we know we are!

Today our Cart Sale merchants begin setting up along our boardwalk.  During our festival, these merchants will offer bargains, new products, and surprises that you'll surely not want to miss!  Here's a list of who you will see (in order, from one end of the boardwalk to the other):

The fun starts tomorrow-- don't miss out!
